Memo 153: Floral Transparency

Well, what do ya' know. Florals are in this season and guess who already had some floral in her closet?
That's why it's so hard for me to "clean" out my closet. These trends come back over and over again!

My rule of thumb for a clothing purge is to only let go of the items that no longer fit and are worn out. Even some worn pieces can be revived. Remember that go to tailor and shoe cobbler that you have on speed dial? Yeah, use them.

Other than that, most things stay in the closet to be loved on just one more time.

Memo 152: An Oxford Kind of Day

Flat shoes are a must during anybody's fashion week. I was over heels by day two of NYFW. These Pour La Victoire Oxford were a very stylish and comfortable option.

These little Madewell black lace shorts paired with this J.Crew bib shirt and Zara leather sleeved blazer felt a little, dare I say, naughty. The lace peeking through at the bottom of the shirt are a nice unexpected surprise.

Whenever lingerie inspired pieces are worn in public, there's always an air of sexy and I like it!

Memo 151: Remixed!

To: All

I was remixing my closet left and right for NYFW this year. The only new pieces that I'm wearing in this look are the Tribal Necklace from BCBG and the Jerome Dreyfus Momo Mini Crossbody.

While, we're talking about this crossbody, the compartments in this bag are a force to be reckoned with.  It's an efficient little sucker. I wish someone was around to time how fast I was able to find things in this bag. Because the way looking for something in my everyday hobo sack irritates my spirit, I should be rocking this mini lifesaver for the rest of life.

And she's pretty.

Memo 150: A Tiered Skirt Walk Around Central Park

To: All
From: Me

Subject: NYFW Look 1

As you know from the last time that I was in New York for fashion week, I like to play tourist in between the shows. Well, on this day, I took a little stroll through Central Park.

Just in case you weren't aware, New York was experiencing a little bit of a heat wave. Like any good traveler, I checked the weather prior to my arrival. However, living in Arizona has my gauge for weather completely screwed up. Ninety-five degrees is a nice day.

So, I saw 80 and packed as if I read 65 degrees. My bag was full of cooler weather options like this embellished sweater and tiered maxi skirt. Lesson learned: Sometimes, you will have to make some sacrifices in the name of fashion.

Yes, I was hot.
